It is generally known that the iPhone’s battery life isn’t that great. Often times the iPhone battery is only lasting a few hours before it shuts the phone completely down. That is very annoying because the phone will need to load for 15 minutes before you can start it up again. Luckily there are a few nice tips that will help you to extend the battery life of your iPhone, and we have documented them below.
The first tip we give you is to turn down your screen brightness. This is the most common thing people do when their battery is running low. You can set the screen brightness in the settings>Brightness & Background> and then you can adjust the brightness. You can also choose to let the iPhone manage the brightness on auto pilot according to the darkness of the room you are in, with the built-in ambient light sensor. If you are in the sun the screen will automatically turn brighter so you can see things better. If you are in a dark room the screen brightness will turn down, so you won’t hurt your eyes too much.
The second tip you can do is to turn off Wifi if you are out in the public. If you have turned the Wifi feature on all the time your iPhone will be constantly looking for new hotspots to connect to. This takes a lot of battery so it might be a good idea to turn that feature off when you are not at home. This also removes the annoying pop-up you get when the iPhone discovers a new network to connect to.
The third tip we can give you is to turn of your location services. Why? Because you don’t need it at all. If it is required to use by an App a pop-up will come which will notify you to turn the location/gps on. This is mostly used by compass, navigation and apps that use the built in gps feature of the iPhone.
Tip four consists of putting bluetooth off. Please be aware that your carkit might use Bluetooth. If you don’t have any device running on Bluetooth you might aswel turn it off. This will be a huge battery life saver. Just like Wifi, Bluetooth is a signal that is searching for devices all the time. This takes loads of battery so it is better to turn it off if you want to extend your battery life.
The fifth and last tip is to close all the apps that are running in the background. You can see which apps you have running in the background by double clicking the home button on your iPhone. A small bar will come from beneath with all the open apps in it. Hold an app for 2 seconds and it should start to shake. A red exit button will appear, which you can click to close the app. A lot of apps are optimized for multitasking, but the truth is that it takes an awful load of battery.
So here you go! Some nice tips to extend the time of your iPhone battery. I hope you have learned some good tips from this guide, and if you have something to add I encourage you to add it in the comments.
