First Photo’s Of The iPad 5 Leaked

The first photo’s of the iPad 5 have been leaked, and they show that the new tablet from Apple will be a lot smaller, in comparison to the iPad 4. The casing is also more looking like the iPad mini. We have some photo’s of the redesigned back of the iPad 5, in the black version. The photos are from 9to5mac, who have got their hands on this piece of the newest iPad through their various connections. According to them, the iPad 5 would have a 9.7 inch display, which is the same as the current iPad screensize. The thickness of the iPad 5 matches the same thickness as the iPad mini, which is extremely thin. This is also to be seen in the following picture where they compare the thickness.

iPad 5 vs iPad mini

The best part is: Apple has managed to put all the feature’s of the iPad into a much smaller case, without any bezels around the side of the screen. This means that the iPad 5 overall will be smaller in size, but not in screen size. The side of the iPad 5 will have the same edges and curves as the iPad mini, and as you can see they will look very familiar aswel. Where Apple has decided to fit the home button (which is usually on the bezel) is still unknown. They will most likely leave enough space to fit it in perfectly, or the home button will become a touch element itself, which has been rumored for a long time.

Here is an other photo were someone has compared the size of the iPad 5 with the current version of the tablet. As you can see, the housing of the tablet will be a lot smaller. How this affects the grip on the tablet is still unknown, as most people use the bezel on the side to carry the iPad, whilst also not touching the screen.

The possible features of the iPad 5 are still not totally clear, but as we also suggested in this article, it will be a lot thinner and lighter. A faster and more efficient processor is also one of the rumors, and the device will also contain Apple’s new lightning connector along with a Retina display.
